Nada Kodagu turns a single photo into a located, verified, routed civic report — for the roads, forests, rivers and towns of Kodagu. No forms. No hunting for the right department. Just point, shoot, and let the nadu know.
Most civic apps ask you to fill a form, pick a department and type an address. Nada Kodagu asks you to take a photo. The intelligence sits in the app, not in your thumbs.
Tap once. Your exact location and the time are captured the instant you tap — not when you finish. So a washout you photograph at 6 am on a hill road is pinned exactly where you saw it, even if your signal only returns two villages later.
The app identifies what's in the frame — a pothole, a landslide, an elephant on the road, a dumped pile of waste — estimates how serious it is, and works out which department is responsible. You just tap once to confirm, or correct it.
Neighbours passing the same spot confirm "still there?". Verified reports reach the right desk with photo, severity and location attached — and every step stays public, so nothing disappears quietly.

Showing illustrative demonstration data for layout and design review. On launch this map draws from live, privacy-protected report aggregates: public pins are snapped to a ~110 m grid and cells with very few reports are merged, so a report filed from someone's home never reveals that home.
Not a generic complaint list. These are the district's real problems — from potholes to coffee leaf rust, from illegal felling to elephants on the Virajpet road.
For an active forest fire or an elephant near people, phone the Forest Department or emergency services before you open the app. Then file the report so the rest of Kodagu knows too.

Your GPS position and the time are recorded the second you tap, and checked against the district boundary. A photo taken somewhere else cannot be passed off as Kodagu.
Old WhatsApp forwards and screenshots carry tell-tale fingerprints. We detect them, and we detect the same photo being submitted twice.
Alongside categorising the issue, the model checks whether this is a genuine outdoor scene at all. Suspicious submissions go to a human — never auto-rejected by a machine.
Reports earn a Community Verified badge only when several people passing the spot confirm it. Reports nobody can confirm quietly fade off the map.
Your email is never shown. Photo metadata is stripped before anything is published, and public map positions are generalised so a report never reveals where you live.

How it is built
Citizen reports are evidence. That places real obligations on how this platform stores a photograph, handles someone's location, and decides what to publish. Everything described here is running today — not planned.
Nada Kodagu is open about what it does not yet do. Features still being built are not described above, and this page is updated as they ship.
Every gram panchayat has to compile a list of works and justify a fund request. Today that is done from memory, from verbal complaints, and from WhatsApp messages that scrolled away last month. Nada Kodagu keeps the same list continuously — with a photograph, a date, a satellite location and the number of residents who confirmed each issue.
We are not trying to go around the procedure. The panchayat resolution, the Taluk and Zilla Panchayat, the countersignature — all of that stays exactly as it is. We are trying to make the evidence behind it take minutes instead of weeks.
Precise locations appear only in this document, for officials. Everything shown publicly is rounded to about 110 metres so a report never points at a doorstep.
We cannot promise that every pothole gets filled. We can promise that everyone sees what happened next. Every report carries a public timeline, and every department carries a public record.

Lost signal on the ghat road? Your report is saved on your phone and sends itself the moment you're back in range. Nothing is lost.
The whole app is under 100 KB. It opens fast on an old Android over 2G, and uses a fraction of the data a normal app would.
Kannada and English from day one — not a translation bolted on later. And because the photo does the talking, reporting needs almost no typing at all.
Open the link, use it immediately, and add it to your home screen if you like. Share it in a WhatsApp group and your whole village has it.
Nada Kodagu is a web app. There is nothing to download and no app store — open it once, and add it to your home screen so it opens like any other app, works offline, and updates itself.
If Chrome shows an Install bar at the bottom by itself, tapping that does the same thing.
It has to be Safari — on iPhone, no other browser can add an app to the home screen.
Works on Android and iPhone. On a slow connection it loads once and then keeps working — including where there is no signal at all.
Questions, corrections, a number on the scorecard that looks wrong, an offer to help — all of it is welcome, and it is read by a person, not a queue.
Departments and officials: if you would like your department's reports delivered in a particular format, or want a figure corrected, say so here and we will work to it.
Complaints about content on the platform are handled as grievances: choose that option below. We acknowledge within 24 hours and resolve within 15 days, as required under the IT Rules 2021.
